About me

I am currently a LLM Legal Practice (SQE 1 & 2) student at The University of Law, LLB Graduate and a future trainee solicitor at a global law firm. My hobbies include creating content, cooking and reading. Apart from university, I am the founder of Muslim Lawyers’ Hub and I also work part time as a Retail Specialist.

The highlight of my journey so far is being chosen for the Global Citizen award sponsored by Watson, Farley & Williams in recognition of founding Muslim Lawyers Hub which has enabled me to play my part in trying to increase the number of Muslim professionals in the legal field.

More about the Muslim Lawyers Hub and what inspired me to start it

As a first generation Muslim female to attend university, I have been told on many occasions that I am unlikely to have a successful career in law which only motivated me further to create a community dedicated to helping students who faced similar challenges. There are currently only 10% of Muslim lawyers in the UK and I strongly believe that it is critical to ensure diversity and inclusion in the legal profession to create a truly meritocratic legal market.

The Muslim Lawyers Hub aims to connect minority students with legal professionals, both nationally and internationally through work experience opportunities, mentoring opportunities, Instagram posts and events.

I believe the ability to see and connect with Lawyers from a similar background is a great way to increase confidence and create role models.
