Hermes rebrand
Earlier last week, the UK’s biggest parcel delivery company had announced they are undergoing a major transformation. A significant change they’ve made is branding the company under the name Evri. Following this change, the company has also created a new website and social channels to promote its delivery service.
CEO Martin de Lange has stated that this is ‘more than just a name change’ representing ‘commitment to leading the way in creating responsible delivery experiences for Evri one, Evri where’.
Firms show stance to help Ukrainian refugees
Many UK businesses have decided to help with the ongoing crisis in Ukraine by offering jobs to refugees when they begin to arrive in the UK. A few of the firms that are committed to supporting this idea are Marks & Spencers, ASOS and Lush.
Asos are have made opportunities available as they believe Ukraine has a strong skillset in tech engineering. Lush have also added that there are web development and tech roles that will also provide opportunities for refugees to rebuild their life.
P&O Ferries
One of the UK’s largest ferry operators, P&O Ferries has terminated the employment of 800 employees to replace them with cheaper agency workers. The staff were made aware of this harsh decision last Thursday, via a video message.
P&O have said this was a decision that was difficult and a “last resort”, to save the company, despite failing to provide any notice. Furthermore, this has led to an outrage of protests against the company sacking its employees.
